What are the GED Tests? The GED tests are multiple choice tests (except for the written essay) that cover 5 areas: Writing Skills, Social Studies, Science, Literature and the Arts, and Math. You must obtain a passing score in each test in order to obtain a GED.
How old do I have to be to take the GED tests? You must be at least 17 years of age and not have been enrolled in a school for one year, or 18 years of age.
How do I prepare for the GED? PVAEC offers several Learning Centers that provide a place to study and practice for the GED tests. We have books and materials and our computer lab that will help you prepare for the actual tests. Please call 564-6525 to set up your appointment.
What does it cost to get a GED? The GED is free to all students! All costs are covered by local and state subsidies.

How do I obtain an adult high school diploma? PVAEC offers scheduled academic classes and our Learning Centers to assist you in obtaining your diploma. Call for an appointment and we will review your transcript and determine the credits you have left to earn, and work with you to design a program that will help you meet your goals Visit our Academic page for more information. Guarantees. PVAEC wants all our students to be satisfied. If you ever are dissatisfied with a class, please let us know. We will provide you with a gift certificate for any other like course in the future. (Back to top)
Refunds. We will refund 100% of the class fee if the class is canceled, or if you cancel within 24 hours of the first meeting. No refunds or credits are possible after the second session of a class. Refunds take 2 to 4 weeks to process. Book deposits are refunded on return of the textbook in acceptable condition. (Back to top)
Registration. You may register and pay at our office. You may register by phone, 564-6525, and then mail in your payment. You can mail the completed registration form with your payment to our office. Download our registration form. (Back to top)
